Grow Trees Without Losing Saplings

Create a Contained Growing Area

Build a small enclosure on your main island using cobblestone or dirt blocks. Make it at least 3 blocks tall and 3 blocks wide to give trees room to grow. Leave the top open so saplings receive sunlight.

Plant and Protect Your Saplings

Place dirt blocks on the ground inside your enclosure and plant saplings on top. Surround the area with walls or fencing to prevent saplings from being knocked into the void by wind or mobs. Keep the space well-lit to speed up tree growth.

Harvest Carefully

When trees grow, chop them down methodically. Start from the bottom and work upward, collecting all wood blocks before they fall. Stay inside your enclosure while harvesting so dropped items don't escape into the sky.

Replant Immediately

Use some of the saplings that drop from leaves to replant immediately. This creates a sustainable cycle. Store extra saplings in a labeled chest so you always have backups for expansion.
