How to Make Ender Pearls Skip Across Water
What the Data Pack Changes
With Skippy Pearls installed, an ender pearl that lands on a water surface no longer sinks and teleports you straight down. Instead it skips or bounces along the top of the water, carrying you further before the teleport resolves. This turns any ocean, river, or lake into a potential travel lane rather than a wall.
Throwing for Maximum Skips
1. Aim low. Throw the pearl so its arc meets the water at a shallow angle rather than dropping steeply. A flat trajectory produces more skips than a high lob.
2. Throw from a raised position. Standing on a boat, a shoreline block, or a small pillar gives you a flatter starting angle across the surface.
3. Sprint before releasing. The extra forward momentum you carry into the throw translates into more distance covered per skip.
4. Chain your throws. As soon as you land from one pearl, throw the next one along the same line. Because each pearl now travels further over water, a chain of throws crosses far more ocean than it would without the data pack.
Reading the Result
Watch where the pearl finally stops skipping and teleports you. That landing point is your new launch position. Adjust your aim slightly each throw to stay on a straight line toward your destination, and keep an eye out for shorelines where the skipping stops.
