Maximize Frame Rate Gains on Older Processors

Understand the CPU Benefit

SketchRender Mod is designed for players with strong graphics cards but older processors. The mod moves visibility calculations and draw calls to your GPU, reducing CPU load during rendering.

Optimize Your Setup

1. Ensure both entity culling (OpenGL 4.4+) and chunk culling with Embeddium (OpenGL 4.6+) are active

2. Set your render distance to a comfortable level — the mod's benefits scale with distance

3. Use a graphics driver from the last few years; older drivers won't support required OpenGL versions

4. Close background applications to free CPU resources for Minecraft

Monitor Performance

Use F3 debug screen to watch:

  • Frame rate (should improve, especially in complex terrain)
  • CPU usage (should decrease compared to vanilla)
  • GPU load (will increase slightly, but your card handles it better than your CPU did)

Realistic Expectations

Frame rate gains depend on your specific hardware. Players with very old CPUs paired with modern GPUs see the biggest improvements. If your processor is already strong, gains will be minimal. The mod works best in scenarios with many hidden mobs or chunks — caves, underground bases, and dense forests show the most benefit.
