Make Colored Light Sources More Visible at Night
Understand Colored Lighting Mechanics
Simply Shaded applies colored glow to light-emitting blocks like torches, lanterns, and glowstone. At night or in dark caves, this colored light spreads onto nearby blocks, creating an atmospheric glow that reflects the light source's color.
Position Light Sources Strategically
Place torches, lanterns, and other light blocks at eye level or slightly above to maximize their visibility. Vertical placement makes colored light spread more noticeably across walls and terrain. Cluster multiple light sources together to intensify the glow effect.
Use Colored Light Blocks
If your modpack includes colored light sources (like colored lanterns or custom glowing blocks), these will emit tinted light that's more visually distinct than vanilla torches. Experiment with different light block types to find the most visible colors.
Increase Shader Brightness
If colored lighting still feels dim, return to shader settings and increase brightness or glow intensity. This amplifies how far and how brightly colored light spreads through your environment, making it more prominent in dark areas.
