Adjust Shader Brightness and Contrast

Access Shader Settings

Open your in-game pause menu and navigate to Options → Video Settings → Shaders. Select Simply Shaded from the active shader list to open its configuration panel.

Modify Lighting Intensity

Look for brightness or exposure sliders in the shader options. These control how intensely colored light sources glow across your world. Lower values create subtle, ambient lighting; higher values make glowing blocks cast more dramatic colored light onto surrounding terrain and structures.

Fine-Tune Contrast

If available, adjust contrast settings to control the difference between lit and shadowed areas. This affects how sharply colored light transitions fade into darkness. A higher contrast makes glow effects more pronounced and defined, while lower contrast creates softer, more blended lighting.

Test Your Changes

Apply settings and explore different lighting conditions—stand near torches, glowstone, and other light sources to see how your adjustments affect the overall appearance. Return to settings to refine further if needed. Changes take effect immediately without restarting your world.
