Simply Light: Edge Light Basics

What Edge Lights Are

Simply Light adds a family of thin, edge-mounted light blocks. Each one is a narrow strip of light meant to sit along the border of a block face, so you can outline shapes, ceilings and floors instead of placing a full light block. The mod is deliberately small: its whole purpose is decorative edge lighting.

Every edge light comes in two orientations, a bottom variant and a top variant. The bottom version hugs the lower edge of the face it is attached to, while the top version hugs the upper edge. This lets you line the same block from either side without rotating anything.

A plain Dynamic Edge Light is included alongside the coloured versions, so you can use uncoloured lighting where a tint would clash. Because these are edge strips rather than full blocks, they are best used for accents and outlines rather than lighting a whole room on their own.
