Simply Cats Mod FAQ

Use an Adoption Certificate to obtain a cat, and use a Release Certificate to release it. Both are registry items craftable via the mod's crafting recipes.

Taming is handled through the Adoption Certificate item rather than the vanilla taming process. Craft and use an Adoption Certificate to gain a cat.

Breeding uses the Treat Bag item as part of the mod's cat interaction system. Craft a Treat Bag and use it on your cats to breed them.

Cats are fed using the Treat Bag item. Place a Cat Bowl block and use Treat Bag items to feed your cats.

Catnip is a placeable block grown from Catnip Seeds. Cats interact with it as part of the mod's cat behavior system.

Catnip Seeds are a registry item obtained through the mod's crafting recipes. Plant them to grow the Catnip block.

Cat Bowls come in 16 colors (White, Orange, Magenta, Light Blue, Yellow-equivalent, Lime, Pink, Gray, Light Gray, Cyan, Purple, Blue, Brown, Green, Red, and Black) and are made via the mod's crafting_shaped recipes. Place one down and use it to feed cats.

Litter Boxes are available in the same 16 colors as Cat Bowls and are crafted via crafting_shaped recipes. Place a Litter Box block for cats to use.

These are color-varied cat furniture blocks (Tree Bed, Tree Box, Tree Post) available in 16 colors. They are crafted via crafting_shaped recipes and placed as cat resting/play structures.

Scratching Posts come in wood variants: Oak, Spruce, Birch, Jungle, Acacia, Dark Oak, Crimson, and Warped. Craft one via crafting_shaped and place it for cats to scratch.

Window Perches are available in the same eight wood variants as Scratching Posts (Oak, Spruce, Birch, Jungle, Acacia, Dark Oak, Crimson, Warped). Craft and place one on a wall for cats to sit in.

These are registry items crafted via the mod's recipes: the Laser Pointer is used to play with cats, the Pet Carrier transports them, the Sterilization Potion prevents breeding, and the Cat Book and Shelter Book are informational/utility items.
