How to Use Push to Talk, Voice Activation, and the Whisper Function

Choosing Your Activation Mode

Open the voice chat settings from the mod's keybind or the settings menu. You can pick between Push to Talk and voice activation. With Push to Talk, you hold a key while speaking — set that key in the controls/keybinds section so it does not conflict with movement or inventory keys. With voice activation, the mod listens continuously and transmits when your microphone picks up sound above a threshold. Adjust the activation threshold slider until background noise stops triggering transmission but normal speech still does.

Using Whisper and Proximity

Proximity chat means your voice fades with distance, so players far away hear nothing. The whisper function lets you talk quietly to players very close to you, useful in crowded areas or when you do not want distant players to hear. Bind the whisper key alongside your normal talk key. While whispering, only players within a short radius receive your audio.

Adjusting Individual Players

In the voice chat menu you can see who is currently speaking and adjust each player's volume separately. Lower a loud player or raise a quiet one without touching your system volume. You can also mute individual players entirely if needed. Test your own microphone and speakers from the same settings menu before joining a busy session.
