Set Up Your Discord Bot for the First Time
Create and Configure Your Bot
Before you can bridge voice chat to Discord, you need a bot token.
1. Go to the Discord Developer Portal and create a new application
2. Navigate to the Bot section and click Add Bot
3. Under the TOKEN section, click Reset Token and copy the new token
4. Keep this token safe—treat it like a password
Add the Token to Your Config
1. Locate your mod config file:
- Fabric:
config/voicechat-discord.yml - Paper/Purpur:
plugins/voicechat-discord/config.yml
2. Open the file and find the line with DISCORD_BOT_TOKEN_HERE
3. Replace it with your copied bot token
4. Save the file
Find Your Voice Channel ID
1. In Discord, enable Developer Mode (User Settings → Advanced → Developer Mode)
2. Right-click the voice channel you want to use
3. Select Copy User ID (or Copy Channel ID depending on your Discord version)
4. Paste this ID into your config where it says VOICE_CHANNEL_ID_HERE
5. Restart your server
Your bot is now ready to connect players!
