Simple Swap Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I turn on Simple Swap?
Hold down the Simple Swap key (default is Left Alt) while you break blocks. The block in your hand will automatically place where the broken block was. You can change the keybind in your controls settings if Left Alt conflicts with another mod or game feature.
Can I use Simple Swap with tools like pickaxes and shovels?
Yes, Simple Swap works with any tool. When you break a block with a pickaxe, shovel, or axe while holding the swap key, the block from your inventory places itself in that spot.
Does Simple Swap work if I hold the block in my offhand?
Yes, Simple Swap checks both your main hand and offhand for a block to place. If your main hand is empty but your offhand has a block, it will use the offhand block instead.
What happens if I don't have a block in my hand when I break something?
Nothing happens—the block just breaks normally and drops as an item. Simple Swap only places a block if you're actually holding one.
Can I use Simple Swap on a multiplayer server?
Check with your server owner first. Some servers consider it unfair advantage or cheating, so it's best to ask permission before using it online.
Why isn't Simple Swap working?
Make sure you're holding down the correct keybind (default Left Alt) while breaking the block, and that you have a block in your main hand or offhand. If it still doesn't work, check that the mod is actually loaded in your mods folder.
Does Simple Swap work with special blocks like redstone or spawners?
Simple Swap places blocks the same way you would manually—if a block can't normally be placed in survival mode, Simple Swap won't place it either.
Can I swap blocks while in creative mode?
Yes, Simple Swap works in both survival and creative mode.
Does Simple Swap slow down my game or cause lag?
Simple Swap is lightweight and shouldn't cause noticeable performance issues. It simply automates the place action that would happen anyway.
Can I use Simple Swap to place blocks faster than normal placement speed?
No, Simple Swap respects Minecraft's normal block placement cooldown. It saves you clicks and inventory management, but doesn't bypass the game's building speed limits.
