Organize Multiple Data Packs for a Server

Understanding Data Pack Placement

Data packs handle gameplay mechanics, loot tables, recipes, and structures. Simple Resource Loader Mod organizes these automatically, making server setup much faster than manual loading.

Setting Up Required Data Packs

Place all essential data packs in resources/datapack/required/. Each pack should be its own folder containing a data/ directory and pack.mcmeta file. These packs load automatically when the server starts and cannot be disabled without removing them from the folder.

Adding Optional Data Packs

For packs you want to toggle on and off, use resources/datapack/optional/. Players can enable or disable these packs through the in-game menu without restarting the server.

Verification

After organizing your packs, start your server or single-player world. Use the /datapack list command to confirm all packs are loaded. Required packs should always appear; optional packs show only if enabled. This setup eliminates the need to manually load packs through the world creation menu.
