Simple Resource Loader Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Where do I put my resource packs so the mod loads them?
Place them in the `resources/resourcepack/` folder inside your game directory. If you want them to load automatically every time, put them in `resources/resourcepack/required/`; if you want to toggle them on and off, use `resources/resourcepack/optional/` instead.
What's the difference between required and optional folders?
Packs in the `required/` subdirectory are always enabled when the game starts. Packs in the `optional/` subdirectory can be enabled or disabled through the mod's configuration without restarting the game.
Can I load both a resource pack and data pack together?
Yes, use the `resources/common/` folder for packages that contain both resource and data pack files. The mod will load them as both simultaneously.
Do I need to restart the game to switch optional packs on and off?
No, you can toggle optional packs through the mod's settings and they will take effect immediately without restarting.
The mod didn't create the resources folder automatically. What do I do?
You can manually create the folder structure yourself: make a `resources` folder in your game directory, then add `resourcepack/`, `datapack/`, and `common/` subfolders inside it, each with `required/` and `optional/` subdirectories.
Will this mod work on a multiplayer server?
Data packs loaded from `resources/datapack/` and `resources/common/` will work on servers, but resource packs from `resources/resourcepack/` only affect the client that has the mod installed.
What happens if I put a pack in both required and optional folders?
Avoid doing this—it can cause conflicts or duplicate loading. Choose one location: use `required/` if it should always be active, or `optional/` if players should be able to toggle it.
Can I organize packs into subfolders within required or optional?
The mod loads all packs directly from the `required/` and `optional/` directories, so creating extra subfolders inside them may prevent packs from loading correctly.
Does this mod affect performance or server load times?
The mod loads packs at startup, so a large number of packs may slightly increase load time, but it has minimal ongoing performance impact once loaded.
Can I use this mod with other mod managers or pack launchers?
Yes, as long as the launcher doesn't interfere with the `resources/` folder structure, the mod will work alongside most launchers and mod managers.
