Change an Item's Display Name and Lore

Basic Name and Lore Editing

Hold the item you want to edit in your hand and use the /edit command to customize its appearance.

Steps

1. Hold the item in your main hand

2. Open chat and type /edit name YourCustomName to set a display name

3. Add lore lines using /edit lore YourLoreText — each use adds a new line

4. View results by hovering over the item in your inventory

Tips

• Use &_ to insert spaces in names or lore
• Combine multiple edits on the same item — each command stacks
• Clear unwanted lore by editing the item again with fresh lore lines
• Names and lore persist when you drop and pick up the item

Example

To create a sword named "Flame Blade" with lore "A legendary weapon," use:

• /edit name Flame&_Blade
• /edit lore A&_legendary&_weapon,

The item will now display your custom text when examined in inventory.
