Set Up Animation Behavior with Override, Movable, and Abortable

Understanding Animation Settings

Every animation has three configurable behaviors that control how it plays and whether the player can interrupt it:

  • override: When enabled, the animation replaces your normal player pose and camera angle for the duration. Disable this if you want the animation to play while keeping your regular stance.
  • movable: When enabled, you can walk around and move while the animation plays. Disable this to lock your position in place during the animation.
  • abortable: When enabled, any player action (jumping, attacking, moving) will cancel the animation early. Disable this to force the animation to complete fully.

Configuring Your Animation

These settings are typically defined in your animation's configuration or metadata when you export from Blockbench. Check your animation file's settings before loading it into the mod. Different animations may require different combinations—for example, a dance might be non-movable but abortable, while a combat move might override your pose and run to completion.
