Troubleshoot a Spawner That Won't Work After Placement
Check Spawn Requirements
Different mobs need different conditions. Hostile mobs like zombies and skeletons require low light levels (darkness). Passive mobs need light. Blazes need Nether-like conditions. Verify your spawner's mob type and ensure the environment matches its needs.
Verify Activation Range
Spawners only work when a player is within a certain distance. If mobs suddenly spawn, the range was the issue—consider building your farm closer to where you'll be, or use loaders to keep the area active.
Clear Obstructions
Spawners need open space to function. Remove blocks directly above, below, and around the spawner. Mobs spawn in a specific radius; if that area is filled with solid blocks, nothing will appear.
Confirm the Spawner Type
Hover over the spawner in your inventory or look at it after placement. The item or block should display which mob it contains. If it shows the wrong mob, you may have picked up the wrong spawner. Return to the original location and collect the correct one.
