Manage Team Names in Invisible Player Chat Alerts

Show or Hide Team Affiliation

If you're part of a team and become invisible, this setting controls whether your team name appears in death and kill messages.

Steps:

1. Type /gamerule hideinvismsgs:show_invis_team_name true to display team names

2. Or type /gamerule hideinvismsgs:show_invis_team_name false to hide them

3. Press Enter to apply the change

4. Drink an invisibility potion

5. Trigger a death or kill event—check chat to see if your team name appears

Use Cases

Show team names if you want allies to identify you in chat notifications even while invisible.

Hide team names for complete anonymity—no one will know your team affiliation from the scrambled message.

Note: Your actual player name will still be obfuscated if death/kill obfuscation is enabled. This setting only controls the team identifier portion of the message.
