How do I turn on invisibility scrambling?
Drink an invisibility potion or have the invisibility effect applied to you, then the mod will automatically scramble your name in death and kill messages. You don't need to enable anything—the mod works by default once you're invisible.
Can I see my own scrambled messages?
No, you'll see your real name in chat and on your own death screen. Only other players see your name scrambled when you're invisible and involved in a death or kill event.
What happens if I disconnect while invisible and dead?
By default, your disconnect message will be scrambled if you have the `obfuscate_dead_leave_msg` gamerule enabled. You can toggle this with `/gamerule hideinvismsgs:obfuscate_dead_leave_msg true` or `false`.
Do team names show up even when I'm invisible?
Only if your server admin has enabled the `show_invis_team_name` gamerule. Otherwise, your team affiliation stays hidden along with your scrambled name.
Does the mod hide what weapon I used in a stealth kill?
Yes, if `obfuscate_weapon_name` is enabled, the weapon or tool you used will appear scrambled in the kill message. Admins can disable this with `/gamerule hideinvismsgs:obfuscate_weapon_name false`.
Can server admins see the real names behind scrambled messages?
No, the mod scrambles the text in the chat itself—admins see the same obfuscated names as regular players. The mod is designed to keep invisible player actions private for everyone.
What if I want to turn off scrambling for one specific gamerule?
Use the individual gamerule commands like `/gamerule hideinvismsgs:obfuscate_invis_deaths false` to disable just that feature, or use `/hideinvismsgs` to apply preset configurations quickly.
Does this mod work with mobs or only players?
The mod scrambles messages when invisible players kill mobs too. Mob death messages involving invisible attackers will show obfuscated killer names if the `obfuscate_invis_kills` gamerule is active.
Will this mod cause lag on my server?
The mod only processes chat messages when invisible players are involved in death or kill events, so performance impact is minimal. It should not cause noticeable lag on most servers.
What if invisibility wears off—does my name unscramble in old messages?
No, messages already sent to chat stay scrambled. Only new messages sent after you become invisible will be affected by the scrambling rules.
