Sildur’s Vibrant Shaders FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I turn on the shader after installing it?
Open the Options menu in-game, go to Video Settings, then select Shaders. Find Sildur's Vibrant in the list and click it to activate. You'll see the shader take effect immediately on your world.
Why does my world look too dark or too bright?
Open the shader options by clicking the Settings button next to the shader name in Video Settings. Use the brightness and contrast sliders to adjust the overall lighting to your preference.
Can I use this shader with mods that add new blocks?
Yes, Sildur's Vibrant works with most block-adding mods since it uses standard Minecraft lighting. Some mods with custom rendering may have minor visual quirks, but compatibility is generally very good.
My FPS dropped a lot after enabling the shader. How do I fix it?
Try disabling shadow rendering or lowering shadow distance in the shader settings, reducing render distance in Video Settings, or turning off advanced lighting features. These changes will improve performance while keeping the shader active.
Why do reflections look weird or are missing entirely?
Open shader options and check the water and reflection settings—they may be disabled or set to low quality. Enabling screen-space reflections or increasing reflection quality will make water and reflective surfaces look better.
Does this shader work with Optifine?
Sildur's Vibrant is designed to work independently and doesn't require Optifine. Using both together can cause conflicts, so it's best to choose one or the other.
The colors look oversaturated or washed out. How do I fix this?
Go to shader options and look for saturation, color grading, or vibrancy settings. Adjust these sliders to find a color balance that looks right to you.
Can I use this shader on old Minecraft versions?
Yes, one of Sildur's Vibrant's main strengths is compatibility across Java Edition versions. It works on older versions, making it ideal for legacy modpacks.
Why do shadows look blocky or low-quality?
Increase the shadow resolution or shadow quality in shader settings for smoother, more detailed shadows. Higher settings use more performance, so adjust based on your hardware.
Can I disable specific effects like bloom or motion blur?
Open the shader options menu and look for post-processing or visual effects settings. Most effects like bloom, motion blur, and depth of field can be toggled on or off individually.
