Display Images on Banners and Shields

Renaming for Image Display

Banners and shields can also display web images, but through a different method than signs.

1. Craft or obtain a banner or shield

2. Place an anvil in the world

3. Put the banner or shield in the anvil's input slot

4. In the name field, paste your image URL

5. Confirm the rename

6. Place the renamed item in an item frame or equip the shield

The image will render on the banner or shield just like on a sign.

Customization

You can customize banners and shields the same way as signs—right-click them to access the Signed Paintings UI and adjust sizing, alignment, pixelization, and framing.

Toggling Display

If you want to temporarily hide images on banners and shields without removing them, use: /paintings:toggle banners or /paintings:toggle shields
