Signed Paintings Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I display an image on a sign?
Place a sign, open it for editing, and paste an image URL directly into the sign text. Once you close the sign, the image will render if the mod is installed and the URL is valid.
What image formats does the mod support?
The mod supports common web image formats like PNG, JPG, and GIF. The image must be accessible via a direct URL that returns the image file.
My URL is too long for the sign text limit. What do I do?
Use the `/paintings:upload ` command to upload your image to Imgur, which generates a shorter link you can paste on the sign instead.
Can I display images on banners and shields?
Yes. Rename a banner or shield using an anvil and paste an image URL into the custom name field, then place it in the world to display the image.
Why do some images look blurry or pixelated?
The mod has an optional pixelization feature to match Minecraft's pixel art style. You can toggle this in the mod's UI when customizing how the image appears.
Can I resize or reposition an image on a sign?
Yes. Right-click the sign to open the built-in UI where you can adjust sizing, alignment, and offset to position the image exactly how you want it.
Do other players see my images if they don't have the mod?
No. Players without the mod installed will only see the URL text on the sign. Everyone with the mod will see the rendered image.
How do I remove or hide an image I don't want to see?
Use `/paintings:block add ` to block a specific image, or `/paintings:toggle [all / banners / shields / signs]` to temporarily disable rendering for a category.
An image won't load or looks broken. How do I fix it?
Try using `/paintings:reload ` to refresh that specific image, or `/paintings:reload all` to reload everything. Make sure the URL is still valid and publicly accessible.
Can I use custom block textures as frames around images?
Yes. The mod includes frame options that let you select any block texture to display around your image as a decorative border.
