Set Up a Sculk Sensor Network to Detect All Sounds

Understanding the New Detection Range

With Shriekier Shriekers installed, sculk sensors now respond to *any* sound in their vicinity, not just player-made noises. This includes mob sounds, block breaks, and environmental audio. Use this to create automated warning systems.

Building Your Detection Network

1. Place sculk sensors in a grid pattern around your base or important area. Space them according to their detection radius.

2. Connect each sensor to a nearby sculk shrieker using redstone dust or redstone repeaters.

3. Test activation by making various sounds near the sensors—footsteps, mob noises, or block interactions should all trigger the shrieker.

4. Adjust placement if certain areas aren't responding. Sensors have a limited range; overlap coverage to avoid dead zones.

Practical Applications

Use this setup to:

  • Alert you when mobs approach your base
  • Detect when animals move through protected areas
  • Create intrusion detection systems that respond to any disturbance
  • Build mob farms that activate when creatures spawn nearby

Remember that shriekers will still summon wardens if triggered enough times, so consider isolating your detection network from inhabited areas if you want to avoid unwanted spawns.
