Survive a Creeper Explosion Underground

Understand the Danger

Creeper blasts in tight underground corridors are especially dangerous with this mod. The confined space means shrapnel bounces between walls repeatedly, and secondary debris from stone blocks creates chunky, high-damage projectiles with nowhere to escape.

Immediate Survival Tactics

1. Create Distance: Sprint away from the Creeper as soon as you see it. Shrapnel loses speed over distance and through obstacles.

2. Use Cover: Hide behind a solid block (stone, metal, or obsidian). Primary shrapnel will deflect or slow; secondary debris may still reach you but with reduced impact.

3. Punch Through Soft Blocks: If trapped, break through leaves, wooden supports, or fences—shrapnel pierces these anyway, so they won't protect you, but they're fast to destroy.

Prevention

• Light up caves thoroughly to prevent Creeper spawns.
• Carry a shield to reduce incoming shrapnel damage.
• Wear armor with high protection values.
• Avoid mining in narrow corridors where blast effects concentrate.
• If you hear a hiss, immediately move perpendicular to the Creeper's position to avoid the blast cone.

After the Blast

Watch for slow-moving debris fragments still in the air—they can deal damage even seconds after detonation.
