Showing Off Items to Other Players on a Server

What Others See

When you showcase an item, the mod sends a special chat component rather than plain text. Other players who have the mod (or a compatible client) see a clickable item name; hovering it reveals the full tooltip, including enchantments, durability, and lore.

Making It Work Reliably

1. Confirm the server allows the mod's chat messages. Some servers strip unknown chat components, in which case recipients only see plain text.

2. Ask the other player to install the mod client-side so they can render the hover tooltip.

3. Hover the exact item you mean — if you have a stack, the link represents the whole stack.

4. Press the showcase key (default Shift + X) while your inventory is open and the cursor is on the item.

Common Issues

• Nothing appears in chat: the server may be blocking custom chat payloads, or you may be muted by a chat plugin.
• Others see text but no tooltip: they lack the mod.
• Wrong item linked: you moved the cursor before pressing the key; keep it steady on the slot.
