Why Maps Are Different

Minecraft permanently saves map data to your world. Because of this, Shifting Wares Mod treats map trades specially—they are never re-rolled by default. This prevents the loss of important exploration maps.

Accessing Map Trades Reliably

By default:

1. Find a cartographer villager

2. Their map trades remain static and won't change daily

3. You can safely trade for exploration maps without fear of losing access

Enabling Map Re-rolls (Optional)

If your server or world has shiftingWares.allowMapReroll enabled:

• Map trades can be re-rolled, but only after they've been used at least once
• This prevents you from locking in a map trade immediately
• Use the map first, then it becomes eligible for re-rolling on the next daily reset

Strategy

If maps are re-rolling in your world, treat cartographers like other villagers—maintain multiple cartographers so you have backup sources for different exploration maps.
