How Trade Expiration Works

All villager trades in Shifting Wares Mod eventually expire. This means even a favorable trade—like a mending book offer—will eventually become unavailable. The mod balances this by making villagers easier to replace if they die.

Maximizing Trade Lifespan

Use trades before they expire:

1. Monitor which trades are most valuable to your survival

2. Prioritize using those trades regularly

3. Each use extends the trade's active period

For depleted trades:

If you've used a trade so much it's fully depleted, the villager will re-roll it on their next restock. This means a depleted mending trade might become a different enchantment entirely.

Backup Strategy

Maintain multiple villagers offering the same service. If one villager's valuable trade expires, another may cycle into offering it. This redundancy ensures you always have access to critical trades like mending, silk touch, or unbreaking without depending on a single villager's random re-rolls.
