What does the Shield Expansion Mod do?
It rebalances shields by adding tiers to them and introducing two new mechanics: Off-Guard Cooldown and Parrying. It also adds enchantments and customization options for shields.

What is parrying in Shield Expansion?
Parrying is done by raising your shield just before an attack hits you. A successful parry bypasses the Off-Guard Cooldown, shoves melee attackers back, and deflects enemy projectiles.
What is the Off-Guard Cooldown in Shield Expansion?
It is a cooldown period after blocking an enemy strike that prevents instantly reusing your shield, forcing you to switch to offense. The cooldown time depends on the shield material, with netherite recovering fastest and wood taking longest.
How do I get the Paragon Shield in Shield Expansion?
The Paragon Shield is obtained by upgrading a 
Diamond Shield using the mod's native compatibility with Mining Master.
