Keeping Vines Without the Growth

Sometimes you want vines in your build for aesthetics, but not the constant downward growth. Shearing solves this problem.

Steps:

1. Locate or place vines where you want them

2. Let them grow to your preferred length

3. Right-click each vine with shears

4. The vine stops growing but remains visible

Balancing Aesthetics and Control

Unlike breaking vines entirely, shearing keeps them as decorative blocks while removing the growth mechanic. This is ideal for:

• Maintaining the overgrown look of abandoned structures
• Keeping vines on specific walls without them spreading to adjacent surfaces
• Creating stable vine-covered features that won't change over time
• Building in areas where vine growth would otherwise cause problems

Sheared vines behave exactly like cave vines—they're permanent, non-spreading, and fully under your control. This gives you the best of both worlds: authentic vine decoration with complete predictability.
