Manage Shared Hunger with the Hunger Gamerule

Linking Hunger Across Players

The Shared Health Mod can also synchronize hunger levels alongside health, creating a fully unified survival experience.

Enabling Shared Hunger

In chat, enter:

`

/gamerule shareHunger true

`

When active, all players share a single hunger bar. If one player eats food, everyone's hunger decreases together. If one player goes hungry, the entire group suffers.

Disabling Shared Hunger

To give each player independent hunger management:

`

/gamerule shareHunger false

`

Players will return to individual hunger bars.

Strategic Considerations

  • Shared hunger makes food management a team responsibility—designate a farmer or forager
  • Starvation damage will affect the whole group, so keep hunger levels topped up
  • Shared hunger works independently of shared health; you can enable one without the other
  • Consider your group's playstyle: shared hunger increases difficulty and requires coordination
