Optimize Shadow Quality for Your PC

Open Shader Configuration

Access the shader settings menu in-game. Navigate to the shadow or performance section of Shader_vanilla's options.

Adjust Shadow Resolution

Find the shadow map resolution or shadow quality setting. Higher values create sharper, more detailed shadows but demand more GPU power. Lower values reduce detail but improve frame rates on older computers. Start with medium settings and adjust based on your FPS.

Control Shadow Distance

Look for a shadow render distance option. This determines how far from your character shadows are calculated and displayed. Reducing this distance significantly improves performance while keeping nearby shadows detailed.

Balance Softness and Performance

Soft shadow settings control blur and smoothness. Increasing softness looks better but costs performance. Decreasing it makes shadows sharper and faster to render. Find the balance that keeps your gameplay smooth while maintaining the visual quality you want.

Monitor Frame Rate

After each adjustment, check your FPS counter. The goal is maintaining consistent frames during normal gameplay without stuttering.
