SevTech Ages Modpack FAQ

It is a massive Minecraft modpack that structures progression through the ages of human history, gating technology and magic behind era-based advancement. It uses the vanilla advancement system to guide you through hundreds of custom advancements, unlocking new ages and mods as you go.

There are six acts: Stone Age, Bronze Age, Middle Ages, Industrial Age, Modern Age, and Futuristic Age/Creative Age. Each age unlocks new ores, items, and mobs.

To complete the Stone Age, you must build a Melter to process metal. The Stone Age itself features simple crafting and rather weak mobs.

To leave the Bronze Age and head to the Middle Ages, you need to build a Luminous Crafting Table. In the Bronze Age you have access to copper and tin, from which you can produce bronze.

To complete the Middle Ages, you must create the Coal Engine, which requires components scattered over large parts of the world. The Middle Ages also give you access to new ores such as iron, gold, and lapis lazuli.

To advance from the Industrial Age to the Modern Age, you need to craft your first piece of plastic. This is an elaborate quest that requires crafting numerous other equipment and materials.

The Modern Age concludes with the moon landing. You must build a rocket and shoot it to the moon to reach the last ages.

The Futuristic Age transitions into the Creative Age once you have built the Ultimate Crafting Table. The Creative Age gives access to materials like diamond and uranium.

The modpack hides ore until it is unlocked, and items and recipes you have not unlocked yet are invisible and impossible to craft. This is part of the era-based progression that prevents you from progressing too fast.

Yes, mobs change as the game progresses. For example, stronger mobs such as Endermen appear in the Middle Ages, and new mobs like Evolved Creepers await you in space during the Futuristic Age.
