How to Use Servux to Sync Your Minimap on a Multiplayer Server
Why Your Minimap Is Blank on a Server
If you run a client-side minimap or world-map mod and join a multiplayer server, your map often shows nothing but unexplored void, even in areas you have already walked through. This happens because the server never sends the map data your client mod expects. Servux fixes this by acting as a bridge: it is installed on the server only, and it feeds the extra data your client mod needs.
Steps to Get It Working
1. Confirm Servux is installed on the server, not your client. You do not need it in your own mods folder.
2. Keep your client-side map mod installed and enabled as normal.
3. Join the server and open your map. Previously explored regions should begin filling in as the server sends region data.
4. Walk into new chunks to trigger fresh data being sent for those areas.
5. If nothing appears, reconnect once. The initial handshake between your client mod and Servux sometimes needs a fresh session.
Notes
Servux only helps when the server operator has it running. On a server without it, your map will behave as before. You cannot force it from the client side.
