How do I know if Servux is actually working on my server?
Join with a client mod that uses Servux, like a minimap or structure overlay, and check whether the server-dependent features activate. If your minimap fills in terrain it couldn't see before, or structure data appears, Servux is doing its job.
Do I need to install Servux on my client too?
No. Servux is server-side only, so only the server needs it installed. Installing it on your client does nothing useful and won't help single-player worlds.
Why doesn't my minimap sync on a server without Servux?
Client mods like minimaps need the server to send extra world data, which vanilla servers don't do. Servux adds that server-side support so the client mod can receive the data it needs.
Will Servux work on a vanilla server or only modded ones?
Servux is designed for modded server environments where client-side mods need server-side support. It's meant to run alongside other mods, not as a standalone vanilla enhancement.
Does Servux change gameplay or add new blocks and items?
No. It doesn't add blocks, items, or recipes. Its only job is to provide server-side support so compatible client-side mods work properly in multiplayer.
My client mod feature still doesn't work after adding Servux — what's wrong?
Check that the client mod is one Servux actually supports, and that both sides are running compatible versions. Servux only helps mods that specifically rely on its server-side data, so unrelated features won't be fixed.
Does Servux cause lag or performance issues on my server?
Servux is lightweight and only sends data when a compatible client requests it. Performance impact is generally minimal, but heavy minimap syncing across many players can add some network load.
Can I use Servux in single-player?
No. Servux is exclusively for multiplayer servers and does nothing in single-player. If you want minimap syncing in single-player, that's handled entirely by the client mod.
Which client-side mods does Servux support?
Servux supports select client mods that need server-side data, most commonly minimap and world-info mods. Check the mod's documentation for the current list, since support depends on the version.
Do all players on the server need Servux installed?
No. Only the server needs it. Players just need their own compatible client-side mods installed; they don't install Servux themselves.
