Fixing Client Mod Features That Don't Work on Servers with Servux

Why Some Client Features Fail Online

Many client-side quality-of-life mods assume they are running in single-player, where the client has full access to world data. On a multiplayer server, that data is hidden, so features like structure overlays, light-level displays, or entity info silently stop working. Servux exists specifically to provide the server-side half of those features.

What to Do

1. Identify which client mod is misbehaving. Check its own documentation for a note about requiring server-side support.

2. Verify the server has Servux installed. Ask the operator or check the server's mod list if you have access.

3. Rejoin the server after confirming. Some features only activate on a fresh connection.

4. Test the specific feature in a safe area, such as checking whether a structure overlay now renders.

5. If it still fails, confirm your client mod version matches what the server expects. Mismatched versions are a common cause of silent failures.

If It Still Doesn't Work

Not every client mod is supported. Servux only backs a specific set of client mods. If yours is not among them, no amount of configuration will help, and you should look for an alternative mod or accept the limitation on that server.
