How to Change the Sleep Percentage on Your Server

The whole point of this data pack is that it lowers the share of players who need to be in bed before the night is skipped. If the default split doesn't suit your group, you can retune it yourself with a single command.

Checking the Current Value

Run /gamerule playersSleepingPercentage in chat. The game will report the current number. A value of 100 means everyone must sleep, while lower numbers let fewer players trigger the skip. The data pack ships with this set to half, but you are free to override it.

Setting a New Percentage

Use /gamerule playersSleepingPercentage <number>, replacing <number> with the share you want. For example, a smaller number means a single insomniac can end the night for everyone, while a larger number keeps the vote more democratic. Pick something that matches how many people are usually online at once.

Making It Stick

Gamerule changes apply immediately and persist across restarts, so you don't need to re-run the command each session. If you later want to revert to vanilla behavior, set the value back to 100. Keep in mind the change is server-wide, so discuss it with your players before lowering it too far.
