Server Sleep Data Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I install this data pack on my server?
Drop the data pack file into your world's datapacks folder, then run /reload or restart the server. You can confirm it loaded by checking /datapack list.
How do I change the sleep percentage?
Run /gamerule playersSleepingPercentage followed by your desired value. The data pack sets it to 50 by default, but you can override it at any time.
Do all players need to sleep to skip the night now?
No. With this data pack only half the players on the server need to be in bed for the night to pass, so you don't have to wait for everyone.
Why isn't the night skipping even though people are sleeping?
Check that playersSleepingPercentage is actually set to 50 or lower with /gamerule, and make sure the data pack is enabled in /datapack list. If the value got reset, re-run the gamerule command.
Does this data pack work in singleplayer?
Yes, but it has no effect since you're the only player. It's designed for multiplayer servers where waiting for everyone to sleep is annoying.
Can I set the sleep percentage to something other than 50?
Yes. The gamerule accepts any value, so you can set it higher for stricter servers or lower for very large ones. Just run /gamerule playersSleepingPercentage with your number.
Will this data pack conflict with other sleep or gamerule mods?
It only changes one vanilla gamerule, so conflicts are unlikely unless another mod also controls playersSleepingPercentage. Whichever one runs last will win.
Does it affect performance or cause lag?
No. It only sets a gamerule and doesn't run any repeating functions, so there is no measurable performance impact.
What happens if I set the percentage to 0?
Setting it to 0 means one player sleeping is enough to skip the night. This is useful on servers where you want the night to pass as soon as anyone goes to bed.
How do I remove or disable the data pack?
Run /datapack disable with the pack's name, or delete it from the datapacks folder and reload. The gamerule will stay at its last value until you change it back manually.
