Server-Side Waystones Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I craft a waystone?
Craft a waystone using the recipe shown in the mod wiki's Crafting Recipes section. Once crafted, place it in the world like any other block.
How do I activate a waystone after placing it?
Right-click on the placed waystone to open its interface and activate it. You can then set a custom name for that waystone location.
Can I teleport to a waystone if I haven't activated it yet?
No, waystones must be activated before you can teleport to them. Only activated waystones will appear in your teleport menu.
Do waystones work the same on Bedrock/Geyser as on Java?
Yes, this mod is server-side and supports both Geyser (Bedrock players) and vanilla Java clients with identical functionality.
Can other players see and use my waystones?
Yes, in multiplayer survival all players on the server can see and teleport to any activated waystone, making them perfect for shared hubs.
Is there a cost or cooldown to teleport between waystones?
Check the mod's mechanics in your installed version—teleportation rules may vary depending on server configuration.
What happens to my waystones if the server restarts?
Waystones are saved to the world data and will persist after server restarts, so you won't lose your teleport network.
Can I delete or move a waystone after placing it?
Yes, break the waystone block like any other block to remove it. You can place a new one elsewhere and reactivate it with a new name.
Do waystones work in the Nether or End?
Yes, you can place and use waystones in any dimension, allowing you to create teleport networks across the Nether, End, and Overworld.
Will this mod cause lag on my server?
Since it's server-side only, the mod has minimal performance impact—waystones are lightweight blocks that don't require constant processing.
