Sensible Stackables Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need to do anything to activate the mod or does it work automatically?
The mod works automatically once installed—there's no crafting, configuration, or activation step needed. Simply load a world and the increased stack sizes apply to all compatible items immediately.
Why can't I stack potions higher than 3?
Potions are intentionally limited to a stack of 3 to balance gameplay, since stacking them too high would make potion management trivial and reduce the need for strategic inventory planning.
Can I change the stack sizes myself?
Stack sizes are set by the mod and cannot be adjusted without modifying the mod files directly; check the mod's documentation or community forums if you need custom stack values.
What's the cooldown on splash and lingering potions for?
The 1-second cooldown prevents players from rapidly spamming splash and lingering potions, which would otherwise trivialize combat and make the mechanic overpowered.
Do enchanted books stack with different enchantments together?
No—each unique enchantment combination stacks separately, so a Protection IV book and a Sharpness V book occupy different stacks, but multiple copies of the same enchanted book stack to 64.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
No, this mod is lightweight and only changes item stack properties; it has minimal impact on performance and is safe to use alongside other mods.
Does this mod work in multiplayer servers?
Yes, but the server must have the mod installed for the increased stack sizes to apply to all players; if only clients have it, the stacking won't work properly.
Can I use this mod with other inventory or storage mods?
Yes, this mod is compatible with most inventory and storage mods since it only changes stack sizes and doesn't conflict with container mechanics or storage systems.
Do saddles, boats, and minecarts stack to 16 in creative mode too?
Yes, the increased stack sizes apply everywhere in the game, including creative mode inventories and item frames.
What happens if I disable the mod—do my stacked items split apart?
If you remove the mod, stacks larger than the vanilla limit will be split back down to their original stack sizes when you load the world, so you won't lose items but they'll take up more inventory space.
