Make Outlines Appear When You Have No Tool Equipped

Default behavior without tools

Selective Bounds Mod hides block outlines when you're not holding any tool. This keeps your view clean when you're just looking around, but it can make it harder to see exactly which block you're pointing at.

Changing the empty-hand setting

Open configs/selectivebounds.json and find the configuration option for unarmed or empty-hand behavior. You can set it to always show outlines, even when you're holding nothing, or leave it disabled for a cleaner aesthetic.

Using Shift as a workaround

If you don't want to change the config, you can simply hold Shift whenever you need to see an outline while empty-handed. This temporarily forces the outline to appear without permanently changing your settings.

Finding the right balance

Consider your playstyle: if you frequently navigate without tools and need clear block targeting, enable outlines for empty hands. If you prefer a minimal HUD, keep them hidden and use Shift when needed.
