How to Configure the Second Chance Health Threshold

Finding the Config File

After installing the mod, a config file is generated in your Minecraft config folder. Open it with any text editor. You will see options controlling the minimum health required for the second chance to trigger, whether the mechanic is enabled at all, and sound cue settings. The threshold value determines how much health you must have before a lethal hit is converted into a near-death survival.

Adjusting the Threshold

Locate the health threshold entry. Lowering the value means the second chance activates even when you are already weakened, making the game more forgiving. Raising it means you need to be closer to full health for the save to trigger, which is stricter. If you want the mechanic off entirely for a hardcore-style run, set the enable option to false. Save the file and restart the game for changes to take effect.

Testing Your Settings

Load a world and let a strong mob hit you while you are above the threshold. You should be left with a sliver of health instead of dying. If nothing happens, double-check that the mechanic is enabled and that your health was actually above the configured minimum. Remember the save does not apply to fall, crushing, or void damage, so test with a mob attack instead.
