Seamless Ores FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on Seamless Ores for specific stone types?
Open Mod Menu (Fabric) or your mod list (Forge/NeoForge), find Seamless Ores Mod settings, and toggle individual stone types like granite, diorite, andesite, tuff, basalt, and blackstone on or off. Your changes apply immediately to newly generated chunks.
Why do my ore veins still have hard lines between different stones?
Make sure the mod is enabled in your settings and that you're exploring newly generated chunks—existing chunks were generated before the mod was installed and won't have seamless variants. You can also verify the correct stone types are toggled on in the mod settings.
Do Seamless Ores drop different items or give less XP?
No, seamless ore variants preserve exact vanilla drop rates, loot tables, XP drops, and mining hardness levels—they're purely visual changes.
Will this mod work with Terralith or other terrain generation mods?
Yes, Seamless Ores Mod is designed to work with world generation datapacks and terrain overhauls like Terralith without conflicts.
Can I use seamless variants with modded ores from Create, Mekanism, or Silent Gear?
Yes, the mod includes built-in support for dozens of modded ores including Create, Mekanism, Modern Industrialization, Mythic Metals, Silent Gear, Tech Reborn, and others—toggle them on in the settings screen.
Why are Nether bastions turning into gold ore?
The mod has built-in protection for Nether bastions so their blackstone and basalt walls don't convert to ore variants; if this is happening, verify the mod is fully updated and that Nether vein generation settings aren't overriding structure protection.
Do I need a custom resource pack for Seamless Ores to work?
No, the mod uses a two-layer texture system that works automatically with the default textures, though custom resource packs will retexture these ore blocks automatically if they support the system.
How do I identify seamless ore veins when mining?
Seamless ore veins blend directly into surrounding rock types block by block, so look for ore textures that match the host stone (granite, diorite, andesite, etc.) rather than standing out with contrasting colors.
Will Seamless Ores affect my world's performance?
The mod has minimal performance impact since it only changes block textures without altering world generation rules or adding new blocks to the world.
Can I disable seamless variants for just one modded ore?
Yes, open the mod settings and toggle individual modded ores on or off—you can keep some seamless variants active while disabling others.
