Create Smooth Cinematic Footage with Variable Speed

Plan Your Camera Movement

For cinematic videos, variable speed adds visual interest. Start at normal speed, then hold Alt and scroll down gradually as you approach your subject. This creates a natural slowdown effect that draws the viewer's attention.

Execute Your Shot

Hold Alt and scroll your mouse wheel to adjust speed in real time as you walk or fly through your scene. Scroll down for dramatic slow-motion reveals, or scroll up to speed through less interesting terrain.

Make small, deliberate scroll adjustments—each wheel click changes your speed by the amount you set in scroll step. If changes feel too large, lower the scroll step value in settings for finer control.

Optimize Your View

Disable FOV Effects in Accessibility Settings so the camera doesn't zoom when you change speed. This keeps your framing consistent and professional-looking throughout your footage, letting viewers focus on your build rather than visual distraction.
