Scroll Walk Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start using Scroll Walk Mod?
Hold Alt and scroll your mouse wheel down to slow down, or scroll up to return to normal speed. Your current speed will display on the HUD so you can see exactly how fast you're moving.
Can I change the key from Alt to something else?
Yes, you can rebind the speed control key in the mod's settings menu. Open your settings and look for the keybind option to assign a different key that's more comfortable for you.
What's the difference between acceleration and scroll step settings?
Acceleration controls how smoothly your speed changes when you scroll, while scroll step determines how much your speed increases or decreases with each wheel click. Higher acceleration feels more gradual, while higher scroll step makes bigger jumps per scroll.
Why does my screen zoom in and out when I change speed?
This is the FOV (field of view) effect that creates a cinematic feel. If you don't want this, turn off the FOV Effects slider in Minecraft's Accessibility Settings.
Can I set a maximum speed limit so I don't go faster than walking?
Yes, the mod includes a custom speed limit setting that lets you cap your maximum speed anywhere from very slow to normal walking speed, preventing you from accidentally sprinting.
Does Scroll Walk Mod work with sprinting?
The mod controls your walking speed independently, so you can still sprint normally with the sprint key when you're at any speed level set by the mod.
Will this mod affect my performance or FPS?
Scroll Walk Mod is lightweight and shouldn't noticeably impact performance; it only adds speed control and a small HUD display.
Can I use this mod for roleplay or cinematic videos?
Yes, that's one of the main uses—the smooth speed control and FOV effects make it ideal for creating cinematic footage or slowing down for roleplay moments without needing to sneak.
What happens if I scroll too much—is there a minimum speed?
The mod respects your custom speed limit settings, so you won't go slower than your configured minimum, preventing you from getting stuck at an unusable crawl.
Does the speedometer HUD show my exact speed in blocks per second?
The HUD displays your current speed relative to your settings, making it easy to see at a glance how fast you're moving without needing exact numeric values.
