Set Up Trigger Zones to Start Events Automatically

Creating a Clickable Trigger Zone

Trigger zones are invisible areas that activate events when players walk into them or click on them. They're essential for starting scenes without command blocks.

1. Define the zone in your script with coordinates marking its boundaries

2. Assign a trigger type—walk-through or click-based

3. Link an event or scene that fires when the zone is activated

4. Test by entering the zone in-game; the scene should start automatically

Practical Uses

Use zones to:

  • Start a cutscene when players enter a story location
  • Trigger dialogue when clicking on an NPC or object
  • Advance the plot when reaching a specific point
  • Gate progression—prevent moving forward until a choice is made

Zone Behavior

Zones can be set to trigger once per playthrough or repeatedly. You can also disable zones after they fire, preventing accidental re-triggers. Combine multiple zones in one scene to create branching paths or multi-stage encounters.

Zones work on multiplayer servers too—each player triggers independently, so different players can experience scenes at their own pace.
