Record and Replay Player Actions as Animations

How Action Recording Works

Scripted Realms lets you record a player's movements, jumps, and interactions, then replay those actions during cutscenes. This creates smooth character animations without manual keyframing.

1. Start recording mode for your target player

2. Perform the actions you want to capture—walk, jump, place blocks, swing tools

3. Stop recording when the sequence is complete

4. Save the recording with a name you'll reference in your script

5. Trigger the replay in your scene script at the right moment

Using Recordings in Scenes

Once saved, recorded actions play back identically every time. Use this for:

  • Character walk cycles across the stage
  • Picking up or placing story objects
  • Emote-like gestures (jumping, crouching)
  • Synchronized group movements in multiplayer scenes

Tips

Keep recordings short and purposeful. Long, complex recordings are harder to time correctly in scenes. Test playback speed to ensure animations feel natural within your story's pacing.
