Scribble Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I open the Scribble editing tools when I'm writing in a book?
Open a written book or book and quill to edit it, and the Scribble interface appears alongside the vanilla book GUI. The formatting buttons, page controls, and save options are added directly to that screen, so you don't need to press a separate hotkey to start.
How do I add colors to my book text?
Select the text you want to change, then use the color buttons in the Scribble toolbar to apply a color. The color is inserted as a formatting code around your selection, so it shows up in-game and survives saving.
How do I underline a word in a book?
Highlight the word or phrase and click the underline button in the formatting toolbar. Scribble wraps the selection in the underline formatting code, and you can combine it with colors or other effects.
How do I insert a new page in the middle of my book?
Use the insert page button in the Scribble page controls while the book is open. The new blank page is added at your current position, and the following pages shift down automatically.
How do I delete a page from a book?
Navigate to the page you want gone and click the remove page button in the page controls. Scribble deletes that page and pulls the later pages up to fill the gap.
How do I save a book to my computer?
Use the save-to-disk option in the Scribble interface while editing the book. This writes the book's contents to a file on your hard drive so you can back it up or load it into another book later.
How do I copy text from one book into another?
Save the source book to your computer with Scribble's save option, then open the destination book and load that saved file into it. This transfers the content, including any color and formatting codes.
How do I undo a formatting mistake in a book?
Use the undo keyboard shortcut while the book editor is open to step back through your recent changes. Redo works the same way if you undo too far, so you can experiment with formatting without fear.
Will I lose my edits if I close the book without saving?
Scribble warns you before exiting when there are unsaved changes, so you get a chance to confirm or cancel. Pay attention to that prompt, because confirming the exit discards the edits you haven't committed.
Does Scribble work with books that already have color codes in them?
Yes, Scribble supports editing books that already contain existing color and formatting codes. You can keep editing and adding to that text without stripping out the formatting that's already there.
