Troubleshoot Overlay Conflicts with Resource Packs

Identify Compatibility Issues

If overlays appear distorted, flicker, or don't render at all, your resource pack may be interfering. Test by temporarily disabling your resource pack and checking if the overlay displays correctly. If it does, the conflict is pack-related.

Adjust Overlay Rendering Order

Some resource packs modify how textures layer on screen. In ScreenFX settings, look for rendering priority or layer options. Changing the order in which overlays render can resolve visual glitches. Experiment with different settings to find what works.

Reduce Effect Complexity

If conflicts persist, try using simpler overlays. A basic vignette is less likely to conflict than complex bloom or shader-based effects. Gradually re-enable effects one at a time to identify which specific overlay causes problems.

Check Mod Compatibility

Other mods affecting rendering (like Optifine or shader mods) may also cause issues. Disable conflicting mods temporarily to isolate the problem. Once identified, you can adjust ScreenFX settings to work around the incompatibility or find alternative visual effects that don't conflict.
