How do I turn on ScamScreener for the first time?
Type /ss settings in chat to open the main menu, then choose your alert level (Low, Medium, High, or Critical) based on how cautious you want to be. The mod will start monitoring your chat messages immediately.
What's the difference between the whitelist and blacklist?
Your whitelist contains trusted friends whose messages will never trigger warnings. Your blacklist contains known scammers, and if autoleave is enabled, you'll automatically leave any party they join.
I got an alert but I'm not sure if the message is actually a scam. What do I do?
Type /ss review to open your flagged messages queue and examine the message in detail. You can then mark it as Safe, Risk, or Dismissed based on your judgment.
Can I add multiple people to my whitelist at once?
No, you must add trusted players one at a time using /ss whitelist add [name]. However, you can manage your entire whitelist from the settings menu to see and remove players as needed.
Does the mod work in private servers or only on Hypixel?
ScamScreener is designed specifically for Hypixel Skyblock and monitors chat patterns common to that server. It may not work as intended on other servers or private islands.
What happens if a blacklisted player joins my party?
If you have autoleave enabled (via /ss autoleave on), you'll automatically leave the party. If autoleave is off, you'll receive an alert but stay in the party.
I'm getting too many false alerts. How do I reduce them?
Open /ss settings and lower your alert level from High or Critical to Medium or Low, or disable specific detection rules you don't need. You can also add frequently-flagged trusted players to your whitelist.
Can I see what rules the mod is actually checking for?
Yes, the settings menu shows all active detection rules with toggles so you can turn individual checks on or off. The mod looks for bad links, urgent requests, repeated spam, and tricky phrases by default.
Does ScamScreener slow down my game or cause lag?
The mod is designed to check messages in real-time with minimal performance impact, but if you experience issues, try lowering your alert level or disabling rules you don't need in the settings menu.
What does it mean when the mod shows an educational pop-up?
These pop-ups teach you about common scam tactics used in Skyblock, like fake links or urgency tricks. They help you recognize dangerous messages even without the mod's alerts.
