Fixing Scaffolding That Does Not Drop Together
Confirm You Are Breaking the Base
If scaffolding scatters instead of dropping in one spot, the most common cause is breaking a block that is not the bottom of a connected group. Look at the structure and trace each column down to its lowest block. Break that one. Blocks above a broken base collapse together;
blocks in a separate group do not.
Check for Disconnections
Scaffolding only collapses as one unit when the
blocks are actually connected. If a section is floating, offset, or separated by a gap, it counts as its own group and will drop on its own. Inspect the structure for breaks in the connection and treat each connected cluster separately. Breaking the base of the cluster you actually want to remove is what triggers the grouped drop.
Mind Your Position and the Terrain
Standing on the scaffolding you are about to collapse can drop you. Break the base from solid ground or a safe platform instead. Also watch for
blocks underneath the base that might interfere with where items land. If drops seem to vanish, check whether they fell into a hole, water, or a gap. Clear the area around the base before breaking so the pile lands somewhere you can easily reach and collect.
