Saro’s Better Glass Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do I need to do anything to start using this mod?
No setup required—the mod works immediately after installation. Glass will break when hit by arrows or crushed by falling anvils, and shards will scatter automatically.
Why aren't arrows breaking my glass?
Check your config file to ensure arrow breaking is toggled on. Also verify that the arrows have enough velocity; very slow arrows may not trigger the breaking mechanic.
Can I make glass shards last longer before they disappear?
Yes, open the configuration file and adjust the shard despawn timer. You can also increase the total number of shards spawned per break if you want a more dramatic effect.
Does this mod work with modded glass blocks?
Yes, but you need to enable modded glass block support in the config. Once enabled, custom glass from other mods will break and scatter shards the same way as vanilla glass.
Will this mod cause lag with lots of broken glass?
Glass shards despawn after ten seconds, so lag is minimal. If you experience performance issues, try lowering the number of shards spawned per block break in the configuration.
Can I disable anvil crushing but keep arrow breaking?
Yes, the config lets you toggle each breaking feature independently. You can turn off anvil crushing while leaving arrow breaking active.
Do glass shards from different colored glass look different?
Yes, shards match the color of the original glass block, so blue glass creates blue shards, stained glass creates colored shards, and so on.
Does this work with weapon mods like Timeless and Classics Zero?
Yes, the mod is designed to work alongside projectile weapon mods. Arrows and projectiles from those mods will break glass and trigger shard effects normally.
Can I adjust how fast the glass shards fly outward?
Yes, the config includes options to control the motion physics of flying glass pieces. You can make shards move faster, slower, or in different scatter patterns.
What happens if an anvil falls on glass that's not directly below it?
Anvils only crush glass blocks directly underneath them as they fall. Glass to the sides or at angles will not be affected by the falling anvil.
