Troubleshoot Saplings Not Planting Automatically

Check Block Type Compatibility

Saplings only plant on blocks that support growth (dirt, grass, podzol, mycelium, etc.). If you drop a sapling on stone or wood, it won't plant. Move it to appropriate soil.

Verify the Sapling Type is Enabled

Check your configuration file to ensure the sapling you're testing is in the enabled list. Vanilla saplings are enabled by default, but modded saplings may need manual configuration.

Ensure Space Above the Block

If there's a solid block directly above the planting location, the sapling won't plant. The mod respects existing blocks and won't destroy them. Clear the space above.

Check for Mod Conflicts

Other mods that modify item dropping or block placement might interfere. Try disabling other mods temporarily to isolate the issue.

Reload Your World

After changing configuration, fully reload your world or restart the game. Changes don't always apply mid-session.
